The Sri Sarada Devi Ashram's Nutrition Programme plays an important role in alleviating hunger and suffering amongst the indigent in all communities. Working through schools and organisations, the programme reaches the destitute, unemployed, abused and disabled. The Nutrition Programme serves the underprivileged of Asherville, Overport, Sydenham, Clare Estate, Chatsworth, Kenville, Newlands, Umzinto and Umkomaas.

The following are some of the schools that receive assistance: Centenary Secondary, Nagari Pracharini Primary, Collegevale Primary, Clayton Primary, Springfield Hindu Primary, SRS Overport Primary, Happy Hours Overport Daycare Centre and Daydawn Training Centre - School for the disabled. The following Homes are assisted: Phoenix Community Hospice; Durban Council of SA Women, Kerr House for Women, Bhekimpilo Support Centre, Clayton Gardens Home for the Aged. Humanitarian assistance is proffered to uplift the condition of women and children
